How much does it cost?

Nothing. P2:CE is non-profit and fully free to play without any micro-transactions or the like. All you need is to own Portal 2 on Steam!

Do I need to own Portal 2 to play P2:CE?

Yes. You need to own Portal 2 on Steam to download P2:CE. Portal 2 content will be shipped with P2:CE, so downloading a copy of Portal 2 will be unnecessary.

When does P2:CE Release?

P2:CE will enter Open Beta within ~2 months.

Is there a workshop?

Yes. Our workshop is the primary way to download content for P2:CE.

Is multiplayer supported?

For our Open Beta phase, we won't have co-op available. Dedicated servers can be hosted, but proper support is not present at this time. Our main priority for Open Beta is singleplayer. Rest assured that multiplayer support will be added sometime in the future.

What platforms does it support?

The game supports Windows and Linux on x64. You need a 64-bit processor to play P2:CE. Some tools, like Hammer, may not be supported on Linux at the moment.

Will this support BEEmod?

No, we unfortunately don't have puzzlemaker's source code, so supporting BEEmod is not possible. Instead, we'll be rewriting puzzlemaker from scratch in the future, and we're going to be working closely with BEEmod developers to make it the best it can be.

Where can I report issues, feature requests and more?

We have an issue tracker for P2:CE-specific issues/enhancements here Some examples of P2:CE-specific issues/enhancements: new gel types, portal 2 bugs that should be fixed in P2:CE, portal 2 entity-related suggestions.

Issues that affect more than one game on Strata should be reported on the Strata Engine issue tracker Some examples of Strata-Engine issues/enhancements: Performance enhancements, Panorama UI feature requests, hammer bugs, hammer features.
